German manufacturer to launch €1.5 million production operations in Klaipeda
The German manufacturing company Baltijos Eukutecas is to become the first tenant of Klaipeda FEZ’s newly developed FlexStart facility. The wiring systems producer will invest €1.5 million in its new production operations in Klaipeda FEZ, which will employ 80 specialists this year rising to 100 in 2019. And Baltijos Eukutecas will have its operations up and running in just 3 months, thanks to the adaptability of Klaipeda FEZ’s new FlexStart facility.

Yazaki in Klaipėda continues to expand: 200 more specialists are required
Yazaki, the global manufacturer of wire harnesses, is looking for a further 200 specialists for its Klaipėda free economic zone (FEZ) facility. The company is currently at work with an extensive project for Mercedes–Benz, for which it requires an additional workforce of 400. Happy with the completion of its first stage of staff expansion - during which it managed to find 200 specialists in less than two months - Yazaki is now setting its sights on hiring another 200 in the coming months. The company has more than 1,200 employees at present.
AD REM LEZ has just began work on a 3.9 million Euro expansion project in Klaipeda FEZ
AD REM LEZ, which belongs to AD REM Group, one of the largest logistics, transport and warehousing group of companies in Lithuania, has just began work on a 3.9 million Euro expansion project in Klaipeda FEZ. Following this expansion, expected to be completed by December 2018, the capacity of the company’s warehouse and logistics complex will be extended to 30,000 sq.m.

Capella’s 10M EUR Klaipeda FEZ plant material extraction facility to boost Klaipeda’s blue economy
Capella Baltica, a Spanish cosmetics and food industry supplier, has just signed a 10M EUR investment deal to build a 2500 sq. m powder and oil extract production plant and laboratory at the Klaipeda Free Economic Zone. Zero corporate tax rate extended to 10 years at Klaipeda FEZ
The Lithuanian parliament has adopted legislative amendments that will enable the free economic zones (FEZ) established in Lithuania to be among the most competitive in Europe. These amendments extend the period that companies operating in Lithuania's free economic zones can enjoy a 0 percent income tax rate from 6 to 10 years, and also add a 50% corporate tax reduction (7,5 percent) for a further 6 years.
New investments increased the significance of the Klaipėda FEZ for the coastal economy
By the end of last year, the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone had accumulated EUR 798 million in foreign direct investment (FDI), which accounted for 60.1 per cent of the total FDI in Klaipėda city, and 44.7 per cent of the total FDI in the Klaipėda region, according to data from Statistics Lithuania. In one year, the share of the investment in the FEZ in the overall city FDI portfolio increased by 3 percentage points, and by nearly 5 percentage points with respect to the regional FDI.

In 2016, investors operating in Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ) purchased goods and services for EUR 200,5 million from Lithuanian suppliers, 1,9% more than a year ago. Last year was the first time when purchases by FEZ companies in Lithuania exceeded EUR 200 million.
Klaipėda FEZ: the most significant free economic zone for its city in Lithuania
By the end of 2015, Klaipėda Free Economic Zone accumulated EUR 493 million of foreign direct investment (FDI). This accounts for 57% of the total FDI of Klaipėda City Municipality. In the significance of the free economic zone to its city in terms of the FDI portfolio, Klaipėda is ahead of all the other Lithuanian free economic zones.
Every 20th employee in Klaipeda worked in FEZ in 2016
In 2016 there were 119 companies operating in the Klaipeda free economic zone (Klaipeda FEZ) employing more than 4,000 specialists, of which 2,450 were working in investor-managed companies and 1,500 were employed in service or industry entities operating in the territory of the FEZ and servicing the former. Based on the data of Statistics Lithuania, this means that the FEZ provided jobs to every 20th working-age resident of Klaipeda, or every 40th resident of the Klaipeda region.
