EUR 3.1 million allocated for key roads in Klaipėda FEZ
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has allocated more than EUR 3.1 million to three projects aimed at improving transport infrastructure within the territory of the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone.
EUR 1.64 million has been allocated for the reconstruction of the connecting roads at the Lypkiai intersection, EUR 1.36 million for the construction of Kretainio Street, and EUR 132,400 for the reconstruction of the Švepeliai intersection.
“When areas suitable for business development become more accessible, municipalities can attract new investors more rapidly, encourage existing companies to expand, and create new jobs. It is therefore important to ensure fast, convenient and reliable transport connections for investors’ supply chains. These investments represent a targeted state contribution to the economic potential of the regions and to increasing Lithuania’s attractiveness for investment,” says Minister of the Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas.
Klaipėda FEZ CEO Eimantas Kiudulas adds that all of these projects are highly important for making daily commuting more convenient and sustainable for businesses and thousands of employees.
“We are pleased that the state clearly understands the strategic value of free economic zones and continues to invest in increasing their attractiveness and convenience,” says E. Kiudulas.
In total, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation distributed EUR 12.4 million in funding to 12 road infrastructure projects being implemented across 10 municipalities in Lithuania. This funding will enable municipalities to improve connections to industrial territories, free economic zones and other business-critical sites.
