Omniva logistics centre opens in Klaipėda FEZ
A modern parcel terminal of the international logistics company Omniva was officially completed and opened on Friday in Klaipėda FEZ. The new facility will allow the company to process parcel flows arriving both from the Port of Klaipėda and other regions much more efficiently.
This year, Omniva developed a modern 1330 sqm logistics centre in Klaipėda FEZ, designed for maximum operational speed. The infrastructure of the new building enables the preparation of around 2500 parcels in under half an hour, while its layout allows couriers to depart on delivery routes extremely quickly. This way, Omniva will ensure efficient process management in the Klaipėda district and within a 100 km radius.
Vilius Samoškis, Head of the Klaipėda Terminal and Partner Relations at Omniva, says that the project in Klaipėda FEZ is a consistent strategic step for the company, addressing both growing customer expectations and changes in the logistics market.
“After the opening of Omniva’s logistics centre in Kaunas, Klaipėda has become the first region in Lithuania where a branch has moved into premises fully adapted to modern logistics processes. The strategically chosen location – the Klaipėda FEZ – met all the criteria we set for our logistics centre. We are grateful to the FEZ team for their rapid work, attention to the project’s progress and flexible approach to the client,” Samoškis notes.
According to him, the efficiency of the new logistics centre is based on simplicity: three clear terminal functions and a layout that optimises operations and ensures smooth flow management. As a result, parcels and cargo will be swiftly reloaded and prepared for dispatch, while the company, having improved its logistics chain, will be able to continue growing together with the Klaipėda region.
“We process around two million parcels per year in the Klaipėda region. Improvements like these are highly significant for customers, as they help ensure service quality and smooth deliveries. This is especially important with the rapid growth of e-commerce and constantly increasing parcel volumes,” Samoškis adds.
The new Omniva facility is located in a 2,150 sqm warehouse and administrative building at Pramonės St 18, developed this year by UAB Logipark.
According to Eimantas Kiudulas, CEO of the Klaipėda FEZ, the transport, logistics and warehousing sector has historically been strong within the free zone, and new leaders joining the business community with modern infrastructure will continue to expand opportunities for companies, residents and employees.
“The arrival of a recognisable international name operating in a strategic field is always a positive signal for current and potential investors in the Klaipėda FEZ business community. We are pleased that Omniva, with its focus on speed and efficient processes, has chosen the Klaipėda FEZ – known for these same values – as home for its operations,” Kiudulas says.
