Elme Metall Group opens a warehouse complex at Klaipėda FEZ

“Elme Metall Group, a member of BLRT Grupp, has completed the construction of a new warehouse complex in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ).

The construction of the largest warehouse complex in the region for storage and distribution of metal products is another step in implementing the Elme Metall Group’s development strategy, according to a company announcement. Its technical equipment fully meets all modern requirements for storing goods, while its in-house logistics service ensures that the cargo is ready for dispatch at any time of the customer’s choosing. In addition, the new warehouse complex can handle a large number of freight vehicles simultaneously.

“The increased warehouse space will allow us to expand the nomenclature of the products we offer and create more favourable conditions for the development of retail and small wholesale trade in the region, as well as to improve the overall level of customer service, which will allow us to strengthen our position on the Lithuanian market. Customers placing orders in the online shop will be able to pick up their products from the warehouse or, if necessary, have them delivered to a specified address. The modern warehouse complex ensures uninterrupted, timely and fast customer service. At the same time, convenient transport links open up opportunities for faster and more efficient delivery of orders,” said Vytautas Jankūnas, director of Elme Metall Lithuania.

The next stage in implementing Elme Metall’s development strategy is constructing a new metal processing production complex, the largest in the Baltic States, in the territory of Klaipėda FEZ. Due to its convenient geographical location, order completion processes will be significantly improved in the Baltic market and Scandinavia, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and other nearby regions.

The warehouse expansion is an integral part of Elme Metall’s investment project in Klaipėda FEZ, worth around EUR 20 million. Back in 2019, it was announced that Elme Metall had signed an agreement with the Klaipėda FEZ to invest in a trading, logistics and manufacturing complex. The next stage of the development will see the result of a modern sheet and profile metal processing complex.

Vytautas Jankūnas, director of Elme Metall Lithuania, said at the time that all the company’s activities in the Klaipėda region were carried out in the territory of the Vakarų Laivų Gamykla [Western Shipyard Group] in the Port of Klaipėda. Therefore, constructing a modern production and logistics complex and its possible further expansion requires new space.

“The complex in the Klaipėda FEZ will allow us to create better conditions for our customers, further improve the quality of our services and strengthen our position in the Baltic and Lithuanian markets. Furthermore, the excellent infrastructure of the FEZ, access to the railway tracks and the nearby motorway will open up new logistics opportunities for our clients,” said V. Jankūnas.
