New public transport routes to speed up connections between Klaipeda and Klaipeda FEZ

Getting to Klaipeda FEZ is about to become even easier. The public transport company, “Klaipedos keleivinis transportas,” is planning to launch new public transport routes which will provide more convenient and faster connections from Klaipeda to Klaipeda Free Economic Zone (FEZ).

More than 5,400 people currently work in the territory of the Klaipeda FEZ, and the majority of the employees working within the FEZ are inhabitants of Klaipeda city. The introduction of these new routes will reduce their current commute time, and help integrate Klaipeda FEZ more closely into the city as a whole.

Currently, there is one route which connects the city to the FEZ, but the plan is to extend this to two routes. One route will serve the south of the city, and the other the north.

The current plan is to have this new public transport system operational by the beginning of 2019.
