Parcel sorting center by Lithuanian Post to be built at Klaipėda FEZ

31 Mar 2025

A new terminal is under construction in the Klaipėda FEZ where a 1,100 sqm Lithuania Post parcel sorting center will be established by the end of this year. The remaining half of the building will be offered for lease to other logistics, warehousing, or transportation companies.

Back in 2022, the Klaipėda FEZ management company signed an agreement with the company “S.V.S” for the lease and investment in a plot at Pramonės g. 18. Initially, the investor planned to develop a smart storage project for businesses and residents. However, further market analysis postponed these plans to a later stage.

Now, after securing Lithuanian Post as the primary tenant, S.V.S will begin construction in March of a 2,150 sqm warehouse and office complex, functioning as a logistics terminal. The project will involve an investment of approximately €2 million. Lithuanian Post will occupy half of the terminal, enhancing its ability to efficiently serve customers in Western Lithuania while providing improved working conditions for its employees.

“At Lithuanian Post, we focus on modernizing and optimizing our logistics processes while also ensuring better working conditions. The new Klaipėda parcel sorting center in the free economic zone will help us achieve both objectives. As parcel volumes continue to grow, ensuring an efficient logistics chain remains a key priority,” said Laurynas Kazlauskas, Head of Operations at Lithuanian Post.

With construction underway, S.V.S is now offering the remaining terminal space for lease, which is suitable for logistics, parcel operations, warehousing, transportation, and related services. The terminal will feature A++ energy efficiency class and a rooftop solar power plant. Additionally, the company still plans to develop the previously announced smart storage service project within the adjacent area in the coming years.

“Klaipėda FEZ, which started as a traditional manufacturing zone, is increasingly evolving into a hub for product development, service provision, business process implementation, operations and even commercial and administrative activities. Transport, logistics and warehousing have historically been strong sectors within Klaipėda FEZ. The arrival of Lithuanian Post, a well-recognized leader in this field, is expected to attract even more companies of this profile to our territory,” said Klaipėda FEZ CEO Eimantas Kiudulas.
