CityBee Bicycle Sharing Scheme Made Free for Klaipeda FEZ Employees

08 Apr 2019

More than 5,400 employees working at Klaipeda FEZ will be able to benefit from the CityBee bicycle sharing service that becomes free from this season on. The bicycles will create a safe and clean alternative for trips home or around the territory.

Klaipeda FEZ employees will be able to use the CityBee bicycles in Klaipeda, as well as Nida and Kaunas, a popular coastal resort and the second largest Lithuanian city respectively.

Jurgita Berontiene, the Service Project Manager at Klaipeda FEZ, says that CityBee carsharing and bicycle sharing services have gained prominence and received very positive feedback in Klaipeda since their launch in 2017.

“For this reason, we’re excited to announce the possibility of using the bicycle service completely free for the FEZ employee community. What’s more, free usage will not be limited to working hours or the zone: both weekends and seaside trips are included in this offering,” said J. Berontiene.

Currently, 5 CityBee bicycle stations are located at the Free Economic Zone, and there are 16 of them in Klaipeda in total. The first bicycles have already arrived to the zone with more to come in the following weeks.

Employees working at Klaipeda FEZ companies that want to benefit from the free offering should install the CityBee mobile app and write an email to [email protected] naming the company they work at. The service will then work normally, but bicycle trips will not be charged.

It is another improvement for the accessibility of Klaipeda FEZ. A few weeks ago, city buses to FEZ  were extended to Klaipeda’s extreme south and north with extra frequencies added.
