Delegation from Lithuanian parliament visits Klaipeda FEZ

14 May 2018

Wednesday (9th of May) saw a major delegation of politicians from the Lithuanian Seimas led by the Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament, Viktoras Pranckietis, visit one of Lithuania’s leading beacons of foreign and domestic investment, Klaipeda Free Economic Zone (FEZ). The delegation was also joined by Minister of Energy, Zygimantas Vaiciunas, and Minister of Transport and Communications, Rokas Masiulis.

At the top of the agenda during their productive discussions was the development of enterprise and the attraction of investment.

“Here at Klaipeda FEZ, we are rapidly developing a business environment that is ideally suited to business creation. We offer companies the opportunity to settle in just 2-3 months. We have the ability to represent the issues of investors in direct discussions with top-level state decision makers. These are the reasons why Klaipeda FEZ is actively expanding – in the first four months of this year alone, we have signed contracts with 3 new companies. Companies currently operating in the FEZ are growing not only in workforce numbers, production volume, and facility size, but also in the rapid development of the technology they use,” explains Povilas Vasiliauskas, Klaipeda FEZ Chairman of the board.

The stimulation of Lithuania’s competitiveness and economic growth was also the prime focus of discussions conducted by the Seimas’ delegation at Klaipeda State Seaport and the Klaipeda Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal.

Klaipeda FEZ community members Ad Rem Lez, BNTP, Vinges logistika, and Orion Global PET were also present at the meeting to share their thoughts and experiences with the Seimas delegation. There was productive discussion throughout the meeting on a number of important topics including wholesale trade, the speed of parcels, and making the process of securing a residence permit for Lithuania even faster.
